Munich Hash # 531

Mourning Day for the Pierogi

ALRIGHTY..!
Our hash today started at the end of the tram 16 run…..at the end of the new tram
extension at St Emmeram.

Of course,…this was also Boxing Day…..which put the hash on a Monday this year.

At 1500….I watched as folks started to arrive by tram, bus, bike, car & foot…..
It was difficult to recognize hashers, because apparently, everyone from Munich was heading
to the English Garten with their families and hounds.

The hare (Cummin Numb)arrived first,…and innocently announced how there was no beer stops…!
I had to question my sanity at that moment….to make sure I was at the hash.
After further conversation, we talked about the holiday meals and drinks we
over-indulged in……good stuff….then I heard that she “had” to toss out a plate full
of pierogis because of too much food…..AHHHHHH!....I almost asked for the address of
that garbage bin so that I could ‘rescue’ my favorite holiday munch.
Many folks started to stream in at the 1500 hour….the car arrivals were struggling to
find parking….but who cared about them..?....the one that counted was missing….and
that was the much needed….beer meister!!

Speedo did show up …and we escorted him to a nearby parking space.

To my fresh holiday vision….we had lots of visitors or new folks there….or maybe it was
because I had been ‘away’ for almost 3 months!!
We did a quick chalk talk….a dry one too….no beer available yet….oh she will pay(CN)!!!

The pack of 15 was off in the right direction immediately….a few walkers went off with CN.
The trail glided alongside the upper street beside the English Garten….and then headed
expectedly into the park.  Of course,….I took a scenic route(not short-cutting) after
my trail tracking ability left me off alone.  I sniffed ot the park below….stopped for
a wee….but then was confronted by a Nigerian looking guy …who kept asking me if I lived
in the house next door….I realized that these neighborhood folks had hired a local
security guard…and he was just asking me to leave in a weird way….

The pack was confused and gathered along the Isar river bank….Were they expecting a
boat?...or tire tubes to arrive?....nope….CN had them track further along the river
to a bridge.  Can’t blame the pack for looking lost…..the park was full of dogs…and this
threw their scent of trail off…  ;))

The hare had warned us about some ‘faith in leaping’…or ‘Cosmo’s leap’ …and thus….we came
across a flour marked trail that ended at a dam in a small creek….but to get across….is
was a jump that needed a running start.  After nearly the whole pack jumped across…..we
were all scrambling on the open field….and no trail to be found…hmmm…of course…CN never
went across the dam….and diverted the trail back up along the creek….Betty Boop sniffed
it out after a few minutes….and we were off again….

Somehow…the pack stayed together the rest of the way…..and never came across any doggy
doo-doo…..nice….a miracle actually. After crossing back over a larger bridge….we started
to gather with some walkers….and…some late comers!  It was Pink Lady, Shut Up ‘n Bend Over,
Just Allison, Cummin Numb, and Bottom Blower.

We all walked our way back to the tram stop….and spotted a fresh piece of dirt to use for
the circle….but yet not on the tram tracks.

We unloaded the Speedo beer wagon, bags, & chips…

The circle began….
I had been gone so long….I was back to where I couldn’t remember names again….even Pole Dancer!!
We had the usual charges of back slider, walkers, newbys, visitors, ….but yes…the hare was our
focal point for a good bit….no beer on trail.(although, the holiday binge needed a break).

We cleaned out the chip bags promptly…and the beer,….but only shortly after we decided to name
a ‘just’ hasher.  Forgive my name guessing…but I believe he was ‘just’ Jim….and after some
consultation with his wife….and terrible questioning from the hounds….we named him
'Brazz Ears’….apparently, something he wore recently had the group set on this name….
We sang Swing Low…and scurried off one tram stop back to a fine Indian cuisine….
one long table accommodated us all…..fresh beers….and good Indian food.

The attendees were….to the best of my knowledge:

Cosmo
BMW
Betty Boop
