The Munich Hash House Harriers Home Of The Royal Oktoberfest Hash

At the appointed hour the hashers gathered at Sendlingator in various states of readiness
for the Christmas hash that was to follow, there was clear evidence that some of the hashers were suffering from symptoms associated with having too much to drink the night before, the medical term is “hangover”.

After a long a long discussion about how to get to Medieval Market the hashers melted into the throngs of Munich Christmas shoppers and magically reappeared sometime later at the aforementioned market, there was some concern that Devil may have got lost,but as the hashers seemed not in a hurry to get started, she had plenty of time to find them and indeed also to partake of a warm Medieval Mead before the hashers felt ready to start.

Our Hare Cumming Numb had carefully and lovingly laid a well marked trail but found out to her horror that not one of the many suitably attired hashers were enthusiastic about running, preferring instead to walk at a leisurely pace contemplating whether or not Showem had her baby yet or not, and when the next Glüwein stop might be.

Faced with the horror of having no runners for her well marked train Cumming Numb appealed to the hashers to see if there would be some brave sacrificial lambs who would step forward to appease the Hash Flour Gods.

However her pleadings fell on deaf ears , very deaf ears, and no one stepped forward to save the Christmas Hash.

She decided to give one last appeal using all the female weapons at her disposal, (meanwhile Speedo and Moose Diver who had been shopping arrived back and joined the crowd of hashers, someone told Moose Diver that there was glüewein
“up at the front” and he stepped forward eagerly just as Cumming Numb was making her final desperate plea for runners)

And so it came to pass the Moose Diver was the only runner for the first half of the hash.

Relishing in his new role of hash super hero he adopted to the circumstances in tremendous fashion, sucking in his beer belly he took of at a very fast pace ( for him that is) followed by the no longer Hare "damsel in distress" Cumming Numb, giving a final salute
to the large pack of walkers he quickly disappeared ignoring the forewarnings that the walkers would get to the drink stop first, however at his best, on his day, Moose Diver is not to be trifled with, especially when it comes to superior athletic activity ( e.g. Ordering drinks in crowed bars) and barely noticing the admiring glances from passing females he quickened his pace determined to reach the holy grail of the drink stop before
the walkers, however hare Cumming Numb had many checks ,and as he had no co runners he had to check the trail himself each time.

Cumming Numb was as ever taking the hash very seriously and did not succumb to Moose Divers offers of sexual and other favors, in return for information about the correct direction of the trail, and so after running on several false directions he eventually arrived at the
drink stop at the Chinese tower with hare Cumming Numb hot on his heels, shortly afterwards the walkers arrived.

After losing Smokestack and Devil again, and finding them both again, and after some drinks the runners, ( Speedo who had to drive the car to B
joined in for the second half.) Moose Diver and Speedo set off on trail followed by the hare.

Faced with this new challenge to his supremacy Moose Diver decided that as he could not outpace Speedo he had to rely on dirty tricks in order to maintain his quest for his first ever F.R.B down down .Speedo soon found out that youth and beauty are no substitute for age experience and beauty

Cumming Numb had cleverly decided not to set any false trails, however she set many checks and so Moose Diver took every opportunity to suggest to Speedo various directions he should do the checking, when Moose Diver found the trail he remained very silent not shouting the traditional “on on” and left it to Cumming Numb to onon Speedo back on course, with these winning tactics Moose Diver was able to maintain a front running position until right at the end when Speedo was able catch up , however by that time it was getting dark and no one noticed or cared any more, and so Moose Diver got his first coveted F.R.B
down down and the Flour Gods were appeased.
